Easy and quick electric pressure beef stew

There are several ways of quickly preparing beef stew recipe using electric pressure cooker. The easiest and quickest way is to put all the ingredients into the cooker and cook. The problem with this method is that some of the ingredients may overcook while others may not cook well.

The other way of cooking beef stew is to use searing method of cooking by searing the beef first in a pan to brown it. This method is better than the first method because one, the beef will cook first before cooking with the cooker and second, the beef and stew will be more flavorful than in the first method. The drippings formed during searing will add flavor into  the stew. Besides searing  help drain the juices from the beef and form drippings that add more flavor . The problem with this method is that it take more time to cook the stew than the first method.

The third and my preferred method is to sauté the  beef, onions and tomatoes first before adding the other ingredients. This allows the beef and the tomatoes to cook well before adding other ingredients. When beef is sautéed first, it helps to combine well with the spices and build a layer of flavors before other ingredients are added.  Cooking beef stew or any other dish with an electric pressure cooker helps to retain the flavors thus making the food more tasty. It is also a faster way of cooking.
