  • ½ kg Beef cubed
  • 4 tomatoes diced
  • 1 chopped onion large size
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 piece ginger small size
  • 3 cups hot water/beef stock Use the same cup you used to measure the rice. Water/stock to rice ratio should be 1½ cups of water:1 cup of rice

  • 1 tsp powdered paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tsp turmeric dry powder or freshly minced
  • 1 tsp chilli powder or chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • chopped parsley
  • cooking oil

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Connect the pressure cooker to the power source and power it on
  • Use the sauté function on the cooker to set the timer; add the cooking oil and sauté the onions; the sauté function gives you 20 minutes to cook but you can always add more minutes once the given time is over.
  • Add the cubed beef to the onions and salt then cook for 15 minutes before adding the tomatoes.
  • Add tomatoes then the garlic and ginger and then the rest of the spices and cook for 4 minutes until the tomatoes are well cooked.
  • Add water or stock then the rice and stir then cover with the pressure cooker lid

Step 2:

  • Use the rice function on the pressure cooker to set the timer for the rice; make sure you cook on maximum depending on the brand of your cooker.
  • Once the timer gets to zero, release the pressure, open the lid and add the chopped parsley then let it rest for 2 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with your preferred vegetables or salad.
