    3. Add the butter, dried fruits and heat over a low heat until the butter is melted then stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
    4. Remove from heat and put aside to cool for 5 minutes
    5. Sift flour and spices into a large mixing bowl and mix well.
    6. Add the eggs and the cooled fruits into the flour mixture. mix them together quickly until well combined.
    7. Spoon mixture into the prepared cake tin.
    8. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until cake has risen, firm and golden brown. Alternatively, insert a skewer in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, then the cake is baked.
    9. Remove from oven and leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes then remove from the tin and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
