There’s nothing more comforting and satisfying than some freshly baked chocolate chip muffins. These classic muffins are incredibly easy to make—all you need is a bowl, a whisk, and a few simple ingredients. Perfect for both beginners and experienced bakers, this recipe guarantees soft, moist, and delicious muffins with minimal effort.
In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder and baking soda into a bowl.
Add sugar and salt. Whisk thoroughly to blend well.
Add 1 cup of chocolate chips into the flour mixture and combine gently. You can also skip this step and add the chocolate chips in the last stage.
Step 2: Combine wet ingredients
Mix eggs, vanilla, oil, melted butter and milk in another bowl. Whisk until completely smooth.
Step 3: Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with dry ingredients and gently whisk to combine.
Cover and set aside while the oven preheats to 425°F and line 12 muffin cups with paper liners.
Step 4: Bake muffins
Scoop the batter using an icing cream scoop or a big spoon.
Divide the batter evenly into the lined muffin cups filling upto the top.
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top of each filled muffin cup.
Bake at 425°F for 5 minutes then reduce the temperature to 350°F and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
Check if the muffins are well baked by inserting a toothpick into the center of the muffin. If it comes out clean, the muffin is baked.
Step5: Remove and cool
Cool for 5 minutes in the muffin pan then remove onto a rack to cool further.
Serve warm.
Notes
Sift dry ingredients to mix well and eliminate lumps
Rest the batter shortly before baking. This helps the batter gain structure as the flour hydrates, which helps it to build strength and form tall muffin tops.
