The rice potato balls are crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. They are easy and quick to make.The balls are a perfect way of making use of the leftover rice and potatoes before they go bad. You can easily serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, and watch them disappear in no time!
Boil the potatoes until soft then mash with a masher or a fork.
Mash the boiled rice or use a blender/food processor to pulse roughly.
Step 2: Mixing
In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, rice, and cheese.
Add in salt, coriander powder, cumin powder and chili powder. Mix well to combine.
Add potato starch, rice flour and baking powder into the mixture then mix well to combine.
Step 3: Making the balls
Grease your palms with some oil so that the mixture does not stick when rolling the balls. Cut and shape the mixture into small balls using your greased palms.
Roll each ball in the bread crumbs to coat, remember to dust off the excess. Set them aside.
Step 4: Frying the balls
Heat oil in a deep frying pan until the oil is hot. drop the balls in batches into the hot oil to deep fry.
Deep fry until golden brown.
Step 5: Serve
Serve with any sauce or dip or with tea for breakfast.
