The dates walnut bread combines the natural sweetness of dates with the crunchy texture of walnuts, resulting in a bread that’s both delicious and satisfying.
Grease bread pan and line the bottom with parchment paper
Step 2: Mixing
Mix the dates with baking soda, lemon zest and hot milk. Set aside to soak for 10 minutes, until the dates are softened and mixture cooled to room temperature.
In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar.
Cream them together until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and beat well.
Stir in the date mixture to mix.
Sift the flour into the mixture and fold using a spatula.
Add chopped walnuts to the mixture.
Gently fold in the chopped walnuts into the batter
Step 3: Decorate
Spoon mixture into the prepared bread pan and spread evenly.
Top with walnut halves to decorate.
Step 4: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes.
Step 5: Cool
Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
Turn out on a wire rack to finish cooling, about 20 minutes.
